Goten is weaker than Trunks before the RoSaT but it's up to opinion after that.

Trunks doesn't get rage boosts, and neither does Vegeta. Rage boosts are exclusive to Gohan.


What opinion would be to say Goten comes out stronger?

More potential?

Not really a big issue. Both the boys potentials seem to be equal if noticeable at all. Goten comes from Goku and Trunks from Vegeta. Both great warriors.

Had something loss person to train for?

So did Trunks.
If you didn't notice, Goku's side of the spectrum has shown higher potential and talent than Vegeta's. Bardock became almost as strong as King Vegeta even though he was many ranks lower, Goku became stronger than Vegeta and stayed stronger, and Gohan was just Gohan. If I had to pick who had more potential between Goten and Trunks, I would give it to Goten.

Goten also started training right away whereas Trunks was preoccupied with the room.
